Dragon’s Loyalty Award no. 2

dragonloyalty

Thanks to Tessa for nominating me for this one! 🙂

THE RULES:

  • DISPLAY THE AWARD CERTIFICATE ON YOUR WEBSITE
  • ANNOUNCE YOUR WIN WITH A POST AND LINK TO WHOEVER PRESENTED YOUR AWARD
  • PRESENT 15 AWARDS TO DESERVING BLOGGERS
  • DROP THEM A COMMENT TO TIP THEM OFF AFTER YOU’VE LINKED THEM IN THE POST
  • POST 7 INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT YOURSELF.

I don’t know if I have anything interesting left to tell about myself!

1. See what I did there? I’m great at giving myself compliments!

2. I can’t dance, even if my life depended on it

3. For someone who doesn’t care much about cars, I like driving. It’s hardly ever a chore for me

4. As a medical resident, I was the resident tech support for all docs in the hostel (all residents lived in the hostel)

5. Growing up I had more favourite authors than close friends

6. I hate crowded places, I’ve never subscribed to the night club/disc culture

7. As far as I’m concerned, if it doesn’t rhyme, it’s not poetry. It could be good prose, great even, it’s just not poetry

Not nominating 15 people! Maybe a few. This is all the more difficult because this is my second loyalty award in ten days! 🙂

Let’s see…

1. Victo

2. Kritika

3. Photrablogger

4. Barrira

5. Fictionatrix

About hbhatnagar

I need to fill this up with much better content than I had populated it with earlier. Why I write a blog maybe? I started blogging in 2009 or thereabouts. I was a newly turned atheist and wanted to converse with others of the same persuasion. We're not exactly a big population group in India! It didn't go very well and I sort of lost interest, posting a few things now and then. I got a lot more regular over the last few months and have been posting almost daily since February '15. There were many reasons why I gradually became more regular in posting, but one way or the other, here I am! So this blog has taken shape, being at different points in time my showcase, my comedy club, my art gallery, my book club, my therapist, my close friend, my innermost self....but always my little corner of the world. You are all welcome to visit and I hope you stay awhile! A few points about me because I don't want to lead anyone on(and trust me this does become an issue more often than I'd care to admit). I'm Indian, the brown-skinned variety; if race, ethnicity or skin colour is an issue, you don't have to get to know me any more than what you see on my blog. I'm 40, so if age is an issue, please be informed accordingly. I was a doctor, an ophthalmic surgeon for 10 years before I quit practice.

  3. I can totally relate to #2. Even during weddings, my cousins and parents force me to get on stage but I hate it. Especially when it is less of a dance and more of strangers bumping into you on the stage ahahah but generally I don’t like dancing because I can’t do it. For sure, I can relate to 5. Can relate to 6 as well which is why my cousins have more fun than I do when we visit vegas. I like driving but I don’t like to drive for example Ferrari, Lamborghini which is what my cousins drive. I am more of a Range Rover and Lincoln driver.

  5. You can’t dance or you don’t like to? I doubt if you are a Punjabi!
I’m going to CH tomorrow as well. I’ll buy traditional Punjabi gida wear for the dance 🙂

I relate to point 5 and 6. About 7, I hope you enjoy the ones without rhymes. Rhyming sometimes restrict your emotions you want to pen down, that’s what I feel.

Congratulations and thank you for thinking of me 🙂

    • I can’t dance, and I’m not Punjabi either. 🙂
I hope you get a seat here, best of luck! Mangaldeep in Sec 17 is apparently good for salwar suits and so on.
I like them, but to me they’re beautiful pieces of prose. 🙂
Thank you and I had to nominate you!

      • We’re Kayasthas, who aren’t that well known as a community apparently, since everyone assumes I’m a Punjabi. 🙂
Oh there are quite a few in Sector 17, I’m sure. I just remember this one coz it’s quite an old one. And you can mail me if you need any help, you know that right?

      • Oh, I see. Well, I’ve heard of Kayasthas, but never knew bhatnagars are not Punjabi.

I’ll look and I’ve another friend who lives there, so I’ll get some idea. My mother bought a CD of Surinder kaur. Boliyan and wedding songs and then I watched gida on YouTube. I always wanted to have that dress, but after watching and hearing, I’m going to get it this time 😀

Sure I can Mail, but if I’ll have accesses to the internet.
