About hbhatnagar

I need to fill this up with much better content than I had populated it with earlier. Why I write a blog maybe? I started blogging in 2009 or thereabouts. I was a newly turned atheist and wanted to converse with others of the same persuasion. We're not exactly a big population group in India! It didn't go very well and I sort of lost interest, posting a few things now and then. I got a lot more regular over the last few months and have been posting almost daily since February '15. There were many reasons why I gradually became more regular in posting, but one way or the other, here I am! So this blog has taken shape, being at different points in time my showcase, my comedy club, my art gallery, my book club, my therapist, my close friend, my innermost self....but always my little corner of the world. You are all welcome to visit and I hope you stay awhile! A few points about me because I don't want to lead anyone on(and trust me this does become an issue more often than I'd care to admit). I'm Indian, the brown-skinned variety; if race, ethnicity or skin colour is an issue, you don't have to get to know me any more than what you see on my blog. I'm 40, so if age is an issue, please be informed accordingly. I was a doctor, an ophthalmic surgeon for 10 years before I quit practice.

  1. Yeah, a robot is reading your comments and posts and scrambling a few eggs. Speaking of which, is your spam filter set to strict? I have zero trolls or spammers since throwing an encyclopedia of slang terms at my black list in the settings. I had some very smart and convincing robots but they are easy to detect if one understands human software. Or maybe, you are into robots? x

    • Yes, and they end up in my spam queue, but I’m incredibly anal about emptying inboxes and folders, something my colleague discovered to her chagrin just last afternoon.
I sometimes think I’m a robot with sapiosexual feelings but that’s just the positron channels overloading. (Psst! I don’t want to be a robot outcast!)

      • You are not an outcast and you know it. I’m OED about stuff too as you know, having bawled me out for it on occasion. Control freak powers: Activate!

      • Did you hear that? The world collectively groaned and have up on us!

      • I don’t care. And neither should you. You’ve saved many eyes because you’re keen on getting things right. I am happy that there are people who fuss over the nuts and bolts. People who dislike control freaks should not get sick, drive cars, ride on trains or airplanes, cross bridges or watch animated feature films, wear designer clothes…

      • I agree on that, except the designer clothes; some of them look like they’re ADD tailored….

      • I’ve seen the videos at the ateliers. It takes a small team in three locations to make those monstrosities. Enjoy the rest of your day. x

      • Three locations. How do they divide the model along themselves? Or are half clothed tall, thin people running around a common sight in Paris and Milan?
        Hope you’re having a great day. X

      • You know perfectly well they use mannequins for the fittings. I’ll send you some links from Dior later. Please watch.

      • Pity, my idea was full of human interest angles. Please do though.

      • Here’s a human interest angle for you: standing through a 19 hour photo shoot in mid winter. Was it cruelty? No. We were all sick OED humans, so the hours flew by.

      • Oxford English Dictionary-ed humans? Or is that cruel? A camera, winter and I…. I see no downside to that.
