My first Liebster award. I had thought these had died out, but apparently they were patiently making their way around the world back to me. Thank you Aanchal for nominating me. Do visit her blog, she’s relatively new here ( I think….) but she’s already climbing up the popularity charts. 🙂

The rules are pretty standard, but since I don’t nominate, I will forgo them and just answer the questions Aanchal has posed to us (there are more nominees, of course. How do you expect awards to grow if they stay at a one to one ratio???Huh? How?)

1. How did you decide on the title of your blog?

That’s simple, my first initial and surname. My blogspot title was a lot more confusing though!

2. Dog or Cat?

Dog, any day of the week.

3. What does your dream house look like?

I’d have a hundred dream apartments/cottages spread across the world rather than one dream house….I can’t even decide on one particular style of architecture for it!

4. Who is your favourite star?

Hard to pin one, but Amitabh or Harrison Ford among the men and Kate Winslett among the women

5.What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

Get over yourself and see the world for what it truly is….

6. Hot or Cold?

Cold, in general, except coffee

7. Which blogs do you check daily?

Many. Victo, Amy, AmyRose, Pri immediately spring to mind, but many more for sure.

8. What is your strength?

That which is my flaw.

9. What’s your drink of choice?

Single malt, on the rocks

10. In your opinion, what is the best blog post you’ve written so far? Give us the link.

It’s not live anymore. 🙂

11. What is your favourite restaurant?

This little neighborhood cafe/pizzeria near Solothurnerstrasse, Basel. This time I will get the name of the place….

I need to fill this up with much better content than I had populated it with earlier. Why I write a blog maybe? I started blogging in 2009 or thereabouts. I was a newly turned atheist and wanted to converse with others of the same persuasion. We're not exactly a big population group in India! It didn't go very well and I sort of lost interest, posting a few things now and then. I got a lot more regular over the last few months and have been posting almost daily since February '15. There were many reasons why I gradually became more regular in posting, but one way or the other, here I am! So this blog has taken shape, being at different points in time my showcase, my comedy club, my art gallery, my book club, my therapist, my close friend, my innermost self....but always my little corner of the world. You are all welcome to visit and I hope you stay awhile! A few points about me because I don't want to lead anyone on(and trust me this does become an issue more often than I'd care to admit). I'm Indian, the brown-skinned variety; if race, ethnicity or skin colour is an issue, you don't have to get to know me any more than what you see on my blog. I'm 40, so if age is an issue, please be informed accordingly. I was a doctor, an ophthalmic surgeon for 10 years before I quit practice.
