Sunshine Blogger Award

Thank you Jen for nominating me! πŸ™‚

It’s been ages since I got a nomination. Do visit Jen’s blog, it’s an inspiration to read her courageous and honest chronicling of her struggle with anxiety; not everyone can be so open about their own self.

RULES:

  1. Thank the person(s) who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog
  2. Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you
  3. Nominate blogs to receive the award and write them 11 questions
  4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger award logo on your post and/or on your blog

Jen’s Questions

  1. Why did you begin writing/blogging?     I began blogging to interact with more atheists, way back in 2008 or thereabouts. It was a simpler time… πŸ˜€
  2. What is your favorite pass time?    Too many to recount…reading, writing,  photography, poetry, doing odd jobs with my own two hands, sketching, music, binge watching favourite TV series or documentaries….
  3. What is your favorite school memory?     They’ve faded with time, but falling in love for the first/second/third time…
  4. Do you have a best friend or multiple best friends?    I like to think I have a couple. πŸ™‚
  5. What is your favorite daydream?     None anymore, not for a long, long time.
  6. What is your worst nightmare?     Old age
  7. How many countries have you traveled to?     I finally have a half-decent answer to this! Four! πŸ˜€
  8. What is your dream destination?      I don’t think I have any, I rather have a dream companion. πŸ™‚
  9. What is your favorite book & why?    Oh lord, I can’t answer that! Nope, not enough hours in the day for me to begin attempting this question.
  10. Who is your favorite person in your life?    A certain maverick-y individual (No, this isn’t a very dated reference to Sarah Palin)
  11. Are you where you want to be in life?    Since I don’t know where I want to be in life, I guess this is as good/bad a place as any! πŸ™‚

Thanks again for the nomination Jen, and I hope the answers are good enough!

I don’t nominate, so this branch of the chain comes to a premature end. Thank you everyone for reading.

About hbhatnagar

I need to fill this up with much better content than I had populated it with earlier. Why I write a blog maybe? I started blogging in 2009 or thereabouts. I was a newly turned atheist and wanted to converse with others of the same persuasion. We're not exactly a big population group in India! It didn't go very well and I sort of lost interest, posting a few things now and then. I got a lot more regular over the last few months and have been posting almost daily since February '15. There were many reasons why I gradually became more regular in posting, but one way or the other, here I am! So this blog has taken shape, being at different points in time my showcase, my comedy club, my art gallery, my book club, my therapist, my close friend, my innermost self....but always my little corner of the world. You are all welcome to visit and I hope you stay awhile! A few points about me because I don't want to lead anyone on(and trust me this does become an issue more often than I'd care to admit). I'm Indian, the brown-skinned variety; if race, ethnicity or skin colour is an issue, you don't have to get to know me any more than what you see on my blog. I'm 40, so if age is an issue, please be informed accordingly. I was a doctor, an ophthalmic surgeon for 10 years before I quit practice.

  2. Old age is everybody’s nightmare πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ the only thing I dread about birthdays is it reminds me that I am growing old. πŸ˜”
Curious about your favourite person in life. πŸ€”πŸ€” Is it your daughter? But you say maverick-y..πŸ€”πŸ€”
You started blogging to interact with atheists?? πŸ˜€πŸ˜€ I don’t believe in idol worship, but I believe that there is some higher power who created the universe. πŸ™‚

    • I’m beyond the halfway point for the Indian average male lifespan…..:D
Not my daughter, though she has maverick-y tones… πŸ™‚
I truly did. I don’t believe in higher, sentient power/s that created everything; I understand the need for idol worship and religion in general though. πŸ™‚

      • I had to google average lifespan of Indian males πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
I too did not believe in higher power before. But I can foresee things, I can read minds and all that, so that is when I realised there is a higher power. Having said that, that higher power can be us. Some say we are the higher power, some say it’s our subconscious mind, some called it god. πŸ™‚

Haha, we all are god/higher power. You believe in power of subconscious mind? Subconscious is nothing but God/higher power. πŸ™‚
I think my health issue is one reason I turned spiritual.πŸ˜‡

      • I believe in what we can measure or empirically prove…. We’re all shaped by our experiences. 😊
