About

I need to fill this up with much better content than I had populated it with earlier. Why I write a blog maybe? I started blogging in 2009 or thereabouts. I was a newly turned atheist and wanted to converse with others of the same persuasion. We’re not exactly a big population group in India! It didn’t go very well and I sort of lost interest, posting a few things now and then.
I got a lot more regular over the last few months and have been posting almost daily since February ’15. That’s when I had my nervous breakdown. That’s a whole saga and I’ve chronicled it in my posts so I won’t go into that here. But I was lucky to come across many, many wonderful people out here who helped me. Even if it was just to post and tell me I wasn’t alone. I can’t tell you how thankful I am for all of you. I’ve tried since, to tell my own story as an attempt at catharsis (didn’t work) and as a means of telling others that they weren’t alone either, not in their depression, nor in their cutting or burning, nor in their thoughts of and attempts at suicide. So this blog has taken shape, being at different points in time my showcase, my comedy club, my art gallery, my book club, my therapist, my close friend, my innermost dark self…but always my little corner of the world. You are all welcome to visit and I hope you stay awhile!

  3. Loved going through this “About Me” section. Your writing style is unique, and bumps from absolute earnestness to heartfelt humour and everything in between. I agree with the minority of the community in our country, but there is hope… There are more eyes opening every day!

  7. Better late than Never , no ? This is the last thing I type before I hit the delete button on my blog. You are and will remain the best memory I take away from wordpress. Your posts are wonderful , your ability to wax eloquence ( remember !) on most topics under the sun never ceased to leave me in awe and most of all your ability to be honest and touch someone’s life even as you struggle with your own troubles.
H – I hope someday you publish your twisted thoughts and morbid one and two liners .
Some people affect eternity , they can never tell where their influence stops . You are one of those for me .
    Stay safe .

  10. Welcome to the depression club. The nice thing about talking on blogs is that we don’t have to do it face to face, and we can take longer to consider what to say. I find that much easier, and I feel better for having done so. Hope it is working for you.

Being pretty new to the world of blogging I’m still navigating my way around and I wasn’t quite sure what to expect but your supportive comments during a tough time in my life have been so appreciated.

It’s nice to know a bit more about the person behind the posts. Seems like you’ve had a difficult time yourself recently, I hope things are much better for you now.

  17. Maybe Indian Atheists don’t blog because I have seen so many around me. Hard core atheists! I mean it!
I got to know them through Facebook. If you still wish, I can introduce you to them 😀

And good job, Bhatnagar. I now know ‘about’ you 😀

    • I did meet some atheists, but most of us have this smug “better than thou” (can’t be ‘holier’!!) attitude and aren’t very friendly, so to speak. And then there are those who want to turn the whole world atheist by the force of their argument. 🙂
Wouldn’t mind getting to know more sane, calmer atheists though.

      • You’re welcome, HB. These things are very “interesting” to say the least. Thank you for posting about updating your About Me page. Because of that, I felt I needed to read mine again just in case something was amiss and lo and behold, two sentences were eaten out of my presentation. Probably when I was scrolling down to edit a photo or something. Now all is mended. I wish the same for you. x

God is all about believe in the unseen..You know why I have been fretting over this issue is because I need you to get out of depression or whatsoever that disturbs you and believe me all your torment will end when you find another book and see which tells about God’s existence..But don’t you think its the time to act an as adult in real not a 16year boy anymore !

      • The best books force us to think and reconsider. Yes, I’m a nerd! 😛 😀
I can believe in the unseen, I haven’t seen a quark for example, but not the unproven.
I’m not doing what I’m doing out of childish petulance, believe me. I wish I could make anyone see, but I know that’s impossible. I’m old enough to have had a 16 years old boy, if I’d started young! Thanks for caring, and I believe you mean well. I really do.

      • Yes! I have not been in your shoes and i am acting unrealistic ..maybe you consider the bad situations in your life a bad omen or what but it was just that I have had my share of blessings and sorrows which makes me ponder on every tiny detail of why this is happening to me or does it leave a bad impact ..No matter who much worsened my situations were ,I got the stamina to deal with them ..
Nevermind 🙂 I am glad you didn’t freak out..I can pray you get the best of both worlds and maybe in future I can explain my tough times to you 🙂

Do vent, it helps. It really does. And we shouldn’t expect everyone to act in the same way, everyone has their own coping mechanism. But that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t share ours! 🙂
