Our ferry-ride brought to this little piece of heaven in the middle of Lake Luzern. I took a glance back before heading up the steep cliff-face in a cable-car.
I know I’m tooting my own horn, but isn’t that a picture-postcard view? ๐
It was literally the middle of the week, but the beautiful weather had still brought the sailor out in some people.
This majestic specimen swam by to bid us farewell as we left the shore…
Spotted as I dashed to board the ferry, the Devnagari (Hindi, the commonest used language in India) sign was a surprise; the first such I came across in Switzerland. I didn’t have the heart to point out that instead of “Golden round trip” it read, “Golden round tirpey”. ๐
A hasty shot; I wish I had had the time to compose it better, but the ferry was about to leave, with or without me. ๐ The tree-lined avenue and the bridge terminating at the tower, with the mountains providing the perfect backdrop. Next time, next time…
A parting shot of the Wasserturm (Water-tower) a part of the famous wooden bridge that symbolizes Luzern. Curiously, the tower predates the bridge, built initially as a prison. Today, it houses a small souvenir shop at its entrance; the rest is closed to the public.
We took a ferry across Lake Lucerne, our destination – Burgenstock.
